| Ainsley
Halemanu teaches hula,
and na
mea Hawai'i
(the "things" and or "culture" of
Hawai'i). A
veteran performer of Hawaiian music, he is the respected
kumu
hula of the hula school
"Ka
Liko O Ka Palai," which means "the bud of the
palai fern," a fern associated with hula
and used in Hawaiian healing. A master chanter, dancer and
teacher, Ainsley is also knowledgeable in the use of Hawaiian
plants for healing, lei-making and decoration. This
multi-talented treasure of Hawai'i is
generous with his wisdom and experience. I am fortunate
to have him as a kumu
and mentor. On the next page we share pictures
of Ainsley Halemanu's halau (hula
school), "Ka Liko O Ka
Palai." |
